Lights, Camera, Action!

This Oscar moment was dedicated to the Brides planning their nuptials for the summer of 2017. The Brides and guest cued the red carpet for their moment to shine! Champagne trays, photographer on hand, professional wedding vendors showing off their skills and lovely treats to nibble on. Plateau Florist was on hand to present a red rose to all the Brides and their guest to enjoy. It was such a pleasure to meet interesting people. Our table was set to pay honor to our Golden Oscar and all its glamour! Champagne gold linen, red runner to simulate the red carpet. Brushed gold napkin rings to mini gold vases of red roses for the guest. The floral arrangement at the feet of Oscar is a garden to remind people of the lavish gardens in Los Angeles, CA.

The first Academy Awards were held at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel’s Blossom Room, and you could imagine the lavish blooms on display. This is where the golden Oscar was born in 1929. His birth name given ‘Academy Award of Merit’. The art director of MGM Cedric Gibbons designed a statuette of a knight standing on a reel of film with a firm grip on a sword. A sculptor in Los Angeles George Stanley designed the Knight in a 3D form and the Golden Knight was born! ‘Oscar’ was a nickname officially given on 1939. Since then over 3,000 of these golden beauties were awarded to all the respective artists in the Academy of Motion Picture Industry. As for our respective guest for this evening had to be special. I hope our inspiration has been enlightening to our Brides and their guest to reach for the stars.
