Plateau Florist was established in the Issaquah and Sammamish Plateau, Washington in 1998. Allyson Weekly A.K.A, Ally, was the 2nd florist to move into this vast growing area. Servicing all households and businesses and remaining the only florist in the Plateau area. Before Plateau Florist was born, Ally traveled the world by working on luxury cruise liners for 9 years and living in Greece for three years. During that time, she learned all about the many kinds of flowers and plants around the world. Touring all the gardens at palaces and private grounds. Taking trips in between each port of call to visit flower growers and markets, and discovering all the different designs that flowers can create and the sentiments they leave behind. Leaving the cruise ships and the Mediterranean, Ally took all the experiences and knowledge pertaining to the floral industry and headed back to school to study Business in the Pacific Northwest. Then Pursued designs and concepts with floral, by working in several flower shops understanding the logistics, the designs and running the business.
After 6 years of waiting, Plateau Florist opened for business! The shop was built ground up in a new shopping center. The walls were painted in forsythia yellow and bright vermillion pink. The flooring was done in black and white and wonderful canister lighting, like something you would see on a movie set. 20-foot walk in cooler, a design area of white cabinetry and butcher block tops to design on. A mural 10’ x 9’ of Plateau Florist logo urn was painted by Ally’s mother. Janice Weekly. It Hung on the side of the cooler greeting the customers. All in all, the flower shop looked like something out of Disney and essences of worldly imagination. 2009 saw a big change for the company: Ally started getting more work in different areas of the floral industry. Weddings and events which took her away from the Plateau area. Though the country was going through a financial disaster, her work excelled in different ways. Ally met people in the movie and television industry and was given the opportunity to work with producers of Gray’s Anatomy prop houses and other prop houses on movie sites as well as HGTV. Ally had to decide to move the business off the Plateau to another place to be able to continue servicing the movie and T.V. industry as well as the customers who supported her business.
Ally shifted her business to a design studio setting between Bellevue and the Plateau. The business still caters to the Plateau daily. The mural painting remains in the studio as a kind reminder of her mother who adored her daughter and loved her business! With over 25 years of business, Plateau Florist continually delivers stellar products to the greater Eastside, Seattle, and surrounding areas.
